My Study Approach
Step 1: Understanding the Content
I started with Professor Messer’s CompTIA Network+ N10-008 training course playlist on YouTube. I watched all 93 videos (14+ hours) at 2x speed to get a high-level overview.
Step 2: Deep Dive & Note-Taking
After finishing the videos, I downloaded and printed the exam objectives from CompTIA’s website. For each topic I had not understood well, I:
- Rewatched relevant sections of Professor Messer’s videos.
- Took handwritten notes for revision.
Step 3: Practice Exams & Weakness Analysis
Completed free quizzes from Exam Compass.
Watched two CompTIA Network+ study group sessions by Professor Messer.
Purchased Jason Dion’s CompTIA Network+ practice exams to practice exam format questions. The package included 6 timed exams with feedback.
Reviewed my incorrect answers to identify weak areas and revisit those topics.
Tip: If you are consistently scoring above 80% in practice exams, you are likely ready for the real test.
Taking the CompTIA Network+ Exam
Once I felt confident, I scheduled my exam at a Pearson Vue test centre (you can also take it online).
The exam lasted 90 minutes, and I received my results immediately. I had passed!
